Off-Site Excursions
Planning a good off-site team-building excursion can be a challenge, but we are here to help. Our cooking and baking classes are the perfect way for a team of up to 10 people to escape from the office, interact in a structured-yet-informal environment, and work together to create something delicious. Harvard Business Review, in an article about the do’s and don’ts of off-sites even suggests cooking together, and we couldn’t agree more.
One activity that I’ve found genuinely builds a sense of interdependence and collaboration is cooking a meal together, and then eating it together as a group. At some primitive level, people that we hunt or gather with, cook with and then eat with become our allies rather than our adversaries. –HBR, “How to Plan a Team Offsite that Actually Works”
We can work with you to create a menu and activity set that meets the needs and preferences of your team. Some ideas to get you started:
- Bringing new hires outside their comfort zone by baking fresh bread together
- Collaboratively leading a working group or non-profit board into creating and eating a satisfying meal together
- Guiding a group of managers through making delicious treats to take back and share with their employees
We regularly teach 4 different bread classes, pretzelmaking, piemaking, eclairs and cream puffs, croissants and pastries, and seasonally appropriate cookie decorating classes, as well as full-meal-plus-dessert classes on a variety of different menus. Choose from one of these, or we would be delighted to customize a special program for your group. Daytime, evening, and weekend classes are all possible. Contact us now for a consultation.
On-Site Demonstrations & Classes
We know that many companies and non-profits have large kitchen spaces in their offices, and want to bring the fun right to their staff. We are happy to tailor programs to your space, and do demonstrations and classes in your building for the enrichment and enjoyment of your staff. Our onsite programs tend to be 1-1.5 hours in length, and feature hands-on components as much as possible. We want your employees to get involved! Message us today to set up your free consultation.
Additionally, if you have a group larger than our space can accommodate (>10 people) but your office space is not suitable, we can offer our programs at the home of one of your executives or board members, or work with you to secure an appropriate space elsewhere.
